Introducing the Revolutionary New SuperLink OutriggersIt is not often in the boom truck world that a component as mundane as outriggers can be called “revolutionary”. However the new SuperLinkTM (patent pending) outriggers from Elliott Equipment Company are exactly that. In talking with customers, Elliott’s sales and engineering team realized that there was a need in the market for a set of A frame outriggers that can be extended on one side and dropped vertically on the other, to allow users to work in confined spaces. Prior to the SuperLinkTM outriggers, in order to work in confined spaces with an A frame machine, users would not deploy the outrigger on one side of a unit at all, as it is impossible to penetrate the ground without extending the outrigger. This practice causes a safety problem and can put the user at risk. The SuperLinkTM outrigger solves this dilemma, allowing the user to get full penetration on the extended side and the non-extended side. Operators are locked out from rotating to the nonextended side by a proximity switch. This allows users to work in areas as narrow as 15 feet wide and still get full penetration from a set of A outriggers. The feature can be easily used simply by inserting a pin into a collar on the outrigger leg to lock it into a vertical position to deploy straight down. The time to deploy is under a minute. Elliott expects to outfit the majority of its A-Frame outrigger units with this option. Following is a list of features of the SuperLinkTM outriggers: Type: A Frame Fully Extended Spread: 21 Feet One Side Extended Spread: 14 Feet Stowed Spread: 7.5 Feet Brake Method to Prevent Full Extension: Hardened Steel Pin According to Elliott Equipment Company’s President, Jim Glazer, “The SuperLinkTM outriggers clearly demonstrate Elliott’s focus on developing technology to make people’s jobs easier, so they can concentrate on their business.” Elliott Equipment Company manufactures the world’s leading line of truck-mounted telescopic equipment for the construction and maintenance industries. Elliott’s brands include HiReach aerial workplatforms and cranes and BoomTruck truck mounted cranes. The Company has been a leader in the construction equipment industry since 1948. |
